Sauvignon Blanc Grape Vine
Thought to have originated in the Loire Valley of France, Sauvignon Blanc now defines many wine regions around the world. Regions of particular note are Bordeaux – France, Marlborough – NZ, Chile, South Africa as well as plantings smattered across Washington and California. Flavors in Sauvignon blanc can range from grassy and mineral, to fruity and tropical. Notes of Gooseberry, grapefruit and passionfruit distinguish this grape, and make it a lovely pairing for soft cheeses.
Sauvignon Blanc is a moderately vigorous variety and can grow in almost any climate! It makes for a wonderful first back-yard grape, and is delicious to eat straight off the vine as well!
