Cistus

Cistus, commonly known as rock roses or sun roses. A genus of flowering plants in the rockrose family Cistaceae, these are bushy, spreading, small to medium-sized evergreen shrubs.

Cistus is loved for its rich, warm, and resinous scent. It has been compared to a mix of sweet amber, leathery tobacco, dried fruit, and smoky incense, with deep woody and musky undertones. We’ve heard it described as a natural “vegetable ambergris” for its complex, grounding aroma.
