Quince, Fruiting

An attractive, spreading, small tree, Quince (Cydonia oblonga) is adorned with large, cup-shaped, pink and white flowers in the spring. It produces in the late fall with bountiful crops of large, bright yellow, sweetly aromatic fruit. High in Vitamin C and pectin, Quince makes delicious preserves and baked goods. Quince like half day to full sun and grows well in most soils. It grows 10-12 ft. in height at maturity and is hardy to at least -25° F. Quince trees can bear 100 pounds or more of fruit, which ripen from late September into October.
