Picual Olive Tree
The most popular oil variety in the world, Picual currently makes up about 25% of olive oil production globally. Most often planted in Spain but showing promise in other areas as well. Self-fertile, though will produce more when planted with other varieties nearby.

Latin Name: Olea europaea
Site and Soil: Olives like a warm, protected location with 1/2 day to full sun and well drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Self-fertile, but will produce more with another olive nearby for cross-pollination. Olives are wind pollinated and should be planted no more than 20 ft. apart.
Hardiness: Hardy to at least 10° F.

Size at Maturity: 10-20 ft. in height but smaller with pruning
