Here comes the bride! And she’s weeping with tears of joy at the sight of this wonderful weeping form of the Ume plum. A stunning tree, especially at maturity that is worthy of a central place in the garden. White blossoms that have a slight tinge of pink cover the tree in late winter and are quite fragrant before producing an abundance of Ume plums. Many thanks to the wonderful and generous folks at J.C. Raulston Arboretum who shared cuttings with us of this unique variety. If you’re in the Raleigh area, be sure to stop by and see their specimen (and many, many others) in person.
