San Biagio Fig Tree

San Biagio Fig Tree

A prized fig from Paolo Belloni’s Pomona Gardens, San Biagio is a rarely seen fig that is proving itself a valuable one for shorter season growers as it ripens a breba crop and a very early main crop, starting in early September here last year. It has a soft skin and a deliciously sweet, concentrated berry or stone fruit flavor. This is one of Paolo’s favorites and for good reason!

One of the easiest fruits to grow, and a true gourmet delight, you should not live your life without feasting on this sweet, delectable fruit. To fully enjoy fresh Figs you must grow your own. When fully ripe and at their tender, shipping them long distances is virtually impossible. Another plus for Figs – deer don’t like them (most of the time)!
