Grows into a thicket that deer use as cover. Can tolerate both heavy winter rains and dry hot summers. A native throughout northern California and southwestern Oregon.

Latin Name: Quercus sadleriana
Site and Soil: Oaks like 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Self-fertile. Will freely hybridize with other Quercus species planted nearby
