Rich 16-6 Citrus Rootstock

Rich 16-6 Citrus Rootstock

Rich 16-6 is a fantastic dwarfing rootstock for Citrus. It is a true Poncirus trifoliata but unlike Flying Dragon it is quite vigorous. Plants grafted onto Rich 16-6 will generally top out around 8-10 feet tall. Also makes a very cold hardy citrus tree on its own with fruit similar to Flying Dragon.

Choosing the correct rootstock can be the difference between a tree thriving or dying on your site. Rootstocks not only determine the overall size, vigor, and precociousness of a tree but also what soil types it can grow in, its drought tolerance and how well anchored your tree will be.

Now you can propagate your own fruit trees for very low costs or preserve rare and heirloom varieties by grafting them onto to resilient rootstocks. Be sure to check compatibility of your desired scion with your choice of rootstock.
