Purple Heart Pomegranate
Purple Heart is a deeply pigmented and deeply delicious pomegranate with sweet-tart flavor and deep red to nearly purple arils, hence the name. Selected by John Chaters of California and sometimes sold under the name Sharp Velvet.

Site and Soil: Likes full to 1/2 day sun and well-drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Self-fertile.
Hardiness: Hardy to at least 5º F.
Bearing Age: 1-2 years after planting
Size at Maturity: Can reach up 10-12 ft. in height.
Taste: Sweet-tart, hard seeded
