Nightfall Blackberry

Nightfall Blackberry is a trailing thornless blackberry bush developed by the breeding program at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. It yields fruit very similar to Marionberry but without the thorns! You can read all you could ever want to know about the Nightfall Blackberry in this document from the USDA  The fruit tends to be a bit more tart than the Marionberry making it great in pies, beer, and ciders, and more. In fact, it’s so good in beer that Cascade Brewery in Portland, Oregon used it in their wild fermented sour ale aptly named Cascade Nightfall Blackberry.

Site and Soil: Blackberries like 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Blackberries are self-fertile.
