For those of you that don’t have space for a full-sized mulberry tree, the Gerardi dwarf mulberry is a perfect option, growing to only about 6 feet tall and producing some of our favorite mulberries. Fruits are dark purple to black with a rich, sweet flavor. Mulberries are vigorous growers and high producers. Their fruit practically melts in your mouth, making them less shelf stable, which is why we don’t often see them available in grocery stores. These delicious berries will provide you with a wonderful summer snack or the perfect fruit for preserves and jams.
