Calderona Fig Tree

Calderona Fig Tree

An intensely delicious fig from the always incredible Monsterrat Pons collection, Calderona is one of those figs that has a little something extra in its flavor that makes it irresistible. For lovers of dark figs, there are few better than this one and indeed it is said to be a favorite of Monsterrat Pons. Possibly synonymous with Bass’ Favorite, but they seem slightly different at least in their growth habits even if the figs are very similar.

One of the easiest fruits to grow, and a true gourmet delight, you should not live your life without feasting on this sweet, delectable fruit. To fully enjoy fresh Figs, you must grow your own. When fully ripe and at their tenderest, shipping them long distances is virtually impossible. Another plus for Figs – deer don’t like them (most of the time)!
