Vanzie Whale’s Tongue Agave

Vanzie Whale’s Tongue Agave

A slightly smaller growing selection of the Whale’s Tongue Agave, as compared to the infamous ‘Frosty Blue’. Vanzie Whale’s Tongue Agave is unique for its smaller teeth, deeply scalloped and wavy leaf edge and its deep ventral folds that give it such a unique texture. Still grows to monstrous proportions, often up to 6 feet wide and 4 feet tall! But you can slow it down in our climate by holding off on the water once it reaches the size you want. Either way be sure to site it in a location where it can be the focal point and have plenty of room to stretch its beautiful blue, spiny legs!

Plant in extremely well-draining soil in the brightest conditions if planting in ground. Watering in the summertime will lead to faster growth and a more gigantic specimen. Otherwise, it makes a fantastic container plant and can be brought indoors when very cold weather is in the forecast.
