A fig from the collection of Paolo Belloni that was recommended to us because of its early ripening and ability to produce 2 crops. Both breba and main crop figs are of high quality with a delicious honey and melon flavor. Sconosciuto means unknown in Italian as Paolo did not know the cultivar name for this one. But Sconosciuto sure sounds like a lot better cultivar name to English speaking ears than Unknown Fig so we’re leaving the name as we received it.

One of the easiest fruits to grow, and a true gourmet delight, you should not live your life without feasting on this sweet, delectable fruit. To fully enjoy fresh Figs you must grow your own. When fully ripe and at their tender, shipping them long distances is virtually impossible. Another plus for Figs – deer don’t like them (most of the time)!
