Schnapper Point Hairpin Banksia

Schnapper Point Hairpin Banksia

Looking almost like a low growing conifer until it is in flower, the Schnapper Point Hairpin Banksia is one of the hardier banksia species and an improved selection of the species. Lower growing, reaching only 2-4 feet in height and spreading out by 3-5 feet, this will make an eye-catching low shrub or groundcover in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Place next to a path so you can admire the wild, otherworldly large protea “corncob candlesticks” that emerge in fall through winter. Flowers are very showy and attract many a pollinator! No phosphorous and well-draining soil are a must with this one.
