One of the most northern growing bush form manzanitas, the Columbia Manzanita is native to coastal areas of Southern Oregon and California, parts of the Willamette Valley, as well as in the Cascade mountains. This form comes from the northern slopes of Mt. Hood not too far from the town of Parkdale. Columbia Manzanita is very cold hardy, and though it can be particular about soil conditions, it is a very tough and resilient plant once it’s established. One of our lesser seen native plants that deserves to be much more widely planted!
