Grizzly Bearberry
A super sized form of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi from the Mendocino coast, it likely hybridized with something else in the area as it has significantly larger leaves than any other form and also grows to much larger proportions. This comes from a very sandy area on the coast so should be given good drainage and, though drought tolerant, will also appreciate an occasional drink of water in the summer. Wide spreading ground cover that is great for covering a large area or spilling over a wall.
