Prime-Ark® Traveler Thornless Blackberry
Prime-Ark® Traveler Thornless Blackberry is the second primocane thornless blackberry released by the University of Arkansas. These innovative introductions have the ability to ripen large delicious blackberries on both current season’s wood (the primocanes) and second year wood (floricanes). This means commercial producers and home gardeners alike will receive a prolonged harvest season and be harvesting blackberries long into summer and even fall. Prime-Ark® Traveler is particularly well suited to shorter growing seasons as it reliably ripens its primocane crop earlier in the season. They are also particularly easy to manage for those of you who don’t want to build a trellis for your blackberries as they can be cut back completely in fall and will fruit on the current wood next season, though you will not get the floricane crop if you do this.
