Flavor Punch Plum Cherry
Sometimes a fruit is so flavorful it feels like it punches you in the mouth when you bite into it. Such is the case with the Flavor Punch Plum Cherry. This hybrid between Japanese plum and sweet cherry produces orangish red fruits that are a bit larger than a cherry. Any Japanese Plum should work as a pollenizer but we’re sure that Emerald Beaut is compatible. Get ready for total flavor knockout!

Latin Name: Prunus salicina x Prunus avium
Site and Soil: 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil.

Pests & Diseases: Not bothered by pests aside from the occasional aphids. Bacterial Canker can occasionally damage trunks or branches. Symptoms of this disease are exudations of amber-colored sap. Spraying lime-sulfur or copper in the fall and early spring can help control Bacterial Canker. Brown rot can effect fruits in particularly wet springs or areas with poor air flow.
