El Dorado Mulberry
A really fantastic white mulberry that we’ve been introduced to by Oregon’s queen of the mulberries, Lucile Whitman. El Dorado produces some of the largest white mulberries we’ve seen and grows to be a bit smaller than many other varieties. One of the best new mulberry introductions, especially for those that love white fruited ones that don’t stain.
Latin Name: Morus sp.
Site and Soil: El Dorado mulberry likes 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil.
Pollination Requirements: Self-fertile.
Hardiness: Hardy to minus 25° F.
Bearing Age: 2 – 3 years after planting.
Size at Maturity: 12-15 ft. in height
Bloom Time: Spring
Ripening Time: July to September
Yield: 15-25 lbs.
Pests & Diseases: Mulberries are not bothered by pests or diseases in our climate
