Shipping Information
Shipping occurs every week, Monday through Thursday. Our goal is to ship your order within 7 days pending weather and season. Tracking numbers are sent via email so please be sure to include your email when you place an order. You may specify the approximate date you would like to receive your plants in the shipping details and while we cannot guarantee the exact date of delivery, we will do our best to get your order to you on the date desired. If you do not specify a date, we will ship your plants to arrive at the best planting time for your area. Depending on the time of year some varieties of plants can only be pre-ordered for fall and/or spring shipping. Air shipments are usually by US Postal Service Priority Mail, 2-3 day delivery but will offer Ground shipping, which is only available in the fall and spring, is with UPS Ground.
Our bare-root plants are stored under refrigeration in the spring so, regardless of where you live, you will receive them in optimum condition, dormant and ready to grow.
SHIPPING SCHEDULE
SUMMER SHIPPING
June – October, weather permitting many of our varieties of potted plants are available. Shipping during the summer months can be tricky due to the potential of extreme heat. We have to use USPS Priority mail to assure your plants show up 1- 3 days after being boxed to avoid damage to the plants.
FALL SHIPPING
October 15th – November 25th, weather permitting. All of our potted plants plus many bare-root fruit trees can be shipped by economical ground transport. Take advantage of the mild fall weather to receive your plants and get them in the ground!
NOTE Fall shipping to USDA Zone 6 and below: Please be aware that plants shipped in the fall to these colder regions may not be hardened off sufficiently to survive winter temperatures. We strongly recommend spring shipping to these areas, as we cannot guarantee survival over the winter. You can easily place the order and note that you would like us to hold it until spring which will reserve the plants and come spring we will ship your order out ASAP.
WINTER & SPRING SHIPPING
Winter and Spring 2016 shipping will begin the week of February 16th and continue through the week of June 21st. Please see the schedule below to determine when you will receive your plants.
West of the Cascade Mountains (Western Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii*) – February 16th through the week of June 21st, weather permitting.
East of the Cascade Mountains – March 30th through the week of June 21st, weather permitting.
Alaska* – April 16th through the week of June 21st, weather permitting.
* Alaska and Hawaii – Because of long transit times by ground or sea, express shipping by USPS Priority Mail is the only method available for shipment to these states.
SHIPPING CHARGES
Cost is calculated at checkout based on your shopping cart and ship to information.
UPS Ground Shipping Charges
For orders east of the cascades UPS ground is usually the cheapest option. Charges are based on the height of the plant, pot size, weight, number of plants, and shipping zone.
USPS Priority Mail and UPS 3 Day Select
Available to all regions during fall, spring and shipping seasons, weather permitting. Required for all orders in the Summer time. Required for orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii year round.
There is a minimum $20-25 shipping charge on orders to the Midwest and east of the Mississippi river.
We realize that this is an expensive way to ship. For some locations and times of year, it is simply the only way to get you your plants in good condition. We trust you will be pleased with the fresh and healthy condition of your plants on arrival.
PLANTMOBILE DELIVERY
The PlantMobile will be making monthly Saturday trips to the Willamette Valley in the Spring and Fall. All plants from our website or catalog are available for convenient delivery to location throughout the Valley. The Fall 2016 schedule and locations are being worked out. Stay tuned here and/or sign up for our newsletter for new announcements locations, dates & times. Be sure to place your order by noon on the Wednesday before the Saturday when you wish to receive your plants.
PlantMobile Delivery Charges:
There is a $10 charge for all orders under $200 and $20 for order over $200.
PROBLEMS WITH YOUR ORDER?
After receipt of you order, please inspect your order and notify us within 10 days of any problems or shortages. We cannot accept claims for shortages or other problems made more than 10 days after receipt of your order. We love our plants and do everything we can to assure the they arrive happy and healthy but shipping can be stressful for some plants so unless there is major damage a little tender loving care can go a long way in revitalizing the plant.
We guarantee that our plants are labeled correctly and in good condition upon shipment. As they are living creatures and can be damaged or killed by frost, heat, diseases and pest, we cannot be responsible for them once they leave the nursery. While we do not offer a free replacement guarantee, we stand by our plants and your satisfaction is very important so let us work with you to resolve any problems. Call or email us with any issue you might have (pictures are extremely helpful so please include if you can).
Please notify us immediately after receipt if there are indication of damage to the packaging. We will file claims for the loss or damage with the delivery company if the plants were harmed because of mistreatment during the shipping process and then work with you to get replacements if need be.
