Joan Mirov Ceanothus
A fantastic large scale ground cover ceanothus, Joan Mirov grows to about 4 feet tall by 10 feet wide! A great bank cover or filler plant for keeping out weeds and preventing erosion. Abundant sprays of deep cobalt blue flowers create quite the show in spring and are beloved by pollinators. Discovered on the Sonoma Coast by Roger Raiche and introduced by one of our favorite botanic gardens at U.C. Berkeley, Joan Mirov is thought to be a naturally occurring hybrid of Ceanothus thrysiflorus ssp. griseus and Ceanothus foliosus. A great selection and one of the best for large scale ground cover plants on the West Coast.
