One of the most versatile of all alliums, the subtle taste of chives adds a wonderful spark of Allium flavor to an endless amount of dishes. A wise man in Bellingham once said, “name me a plant that is more versatile than chives, you can put chives on everything.” Easy to grow and one of the best plants to have within arms reach of the kitchen.

Site and Soil: Full sun and very well-drained soil. Drought tolerant evergreen
Hardiness: Hardy to -40° F.
Size at Maturity: 2′ in height by 2-3′ feet wide.
Bloom Time: late spring
