Boxleaf Azara is a stunning evergreen shrub from Southern Chile and Argentina that features compact glossy evergreen leaves and the most unique late winter flowers you might ever smell. They smell like vanilla or chocolate chip cookies! Boxleaf Azara does produce small orange fruits that are eaten in its native Chile. We’ve tasted them on occasion and think they’d make a wonderful jam, but we really love this Azara for its beautiful form, drought tolerance and heavenly scented bakery blooms. Hardy to about 5F and can tolerate full shade.
