Alpine Poker Plant
A high elevation species of the famous Kniphofia genus, the Alpine Poker Plant (Kniphofia thompsonii) is the only alpine in the genus and grows up to 13,000 feet on Mt. Kilimanjaro. We love this one for its more understated flowers compared to the rest of its cousins and its similarity to an aloe in flower. An excellent plant for the parking strip or xeric garden and a great, long flowering perennial to add a splash of unique color and texture to the dry garden.

Site and Soil: Full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established and will need little to no supplemental watering during the summer season.
