A favorite of cider makers from the Bromsberrow and Haresfield districts of Gloucestershire in England, the Hendre Huffcap Cider Pear Tree is known for its high quality juice. The Hendre Huffcap Cider Pear has perfect balance of tannin and acidity and makes a delicious cider by itself or blended with other varieties. Story has it that the name Huffcap was named after an ale strong enough to lift one cap.

Site and Soil: European Pears like full to 1/2 day sun and well-drained soil.
Rootstock Description: A dwarfing rootstock for European Pears, OHxF 513 produces trees 10-12 ft. in height.
Pollination Requirements: European Pears need another variety nearby for cross-pollination. Our Asian Pear varieties can also be used as pollinators.
