Silvan is a trailing blackberry from a cross between a Marion and ORUS 742 and has a growth habit, yield and fruit that is also similar to a Marion. However, it has been said to be hardier than a Marion. The Fruit on the Silvan Blackberry is a purple black with excellent flavor and great for processing. The fruit is not quite as firm as Marion fruit.
