Noble Muscadine Grape
One of the best muscadine cultivars for making wine, Noble is popular throughout the Southeast and known for making an excellent red muscadine wine. Vines are self-fertile and bear large crops of deep black fruits that are as high as 16% sugar. Cold hardy and disease resistant.
Native to the American South, Muscadine grapes are a unique species that are infamous and much loved by Southerners. Most of us in the North have never had the pleasure of tasting these unique treasures, but we are excited to experiment with them and offer them to gardeners around the country. Unlike most Vitis species commonly cultivated, Muscadine grapes often require another variety as a pollenizer, but other self-fertile females often suffice and both vines will produce fruit. Site and Soil: Grapes like full to 1/2 day sun and well-drained soil. Grapes are drought resistant once they are established.
