Magnolia Vine

Native to the forests of Northern China and the Russian Far East, this beautiful, hardy vine bears clusters of lightly fragrant, magnolia-like flowers. These snow-white flowers are followed by striking, crimson berries which have a tart and very distinctive taste and aroma. The fruit makes tasty, vitamin-rich juice and preserves and the dried leaves, shoots, and roots are used to make a refreshing and stimulating tea. The plant and its fruit are high in vitamin C, micro-elements, essential oils and shizandrin, a stimulating and healthful compound. The fruit and seeds are used as a stimulant and to restore energy and are also used to treat tuberculosis, illnesses of the stomach, liver, and kidneys, respiratory illnesses such as bronchitis and asthma, colds, dysentery and many other ailments.
