Lingonberry

Gardeners everywhere can grow this super-hardy, dwarf evergreen shrub and enjoy nutritious and flavorful berries! Very popular in Scandanavia and Northern Europe, Lingonberry grows 12"-14" tall and forms a pretty groundcover as it spreads through underground rhizomes. Lingonberry blooms twice a year, each time followed by bright red fruit, very high in Vitamin C. The berries have a slightly tart taste when eaten fresh, but really excel in preserves, jams, jellies, syrups and wines. They are also used medicinally to lower cholesterol.
